Wedding Recap: Bride gets Dressed

After all the girls were ready, it was finally time for me to get into my dress.  I can't explain the feeling of having all your best friends and family with you all day.  I was so overwhelemed with happiness and love and I didn't want the day to end.  Putting my dress on was one of the best moments of the day except for of course marrying the man of my dreams!

We're laughing at how much padding was added to my dress!

LOVE this one!

As soon as my sister put my veil on the tears started flowing, but thenkfully the girls were there to make me laugh!

I'm here...I swear!

So I've been MIA lately and I must say I'm sorry! Life has taken me by the horns and thrown me around a bit, but I'm here and have plenty of updates for you!

First up...my custom clutch has arrived! Etsy seller Shakuyaku was fabulous to work with and I am IN LOVE with my clutch! I can't wait to use it! The green lining matches my shoes perfectly!

P.S. Did I mention my dress is here?!?! I get to try her on on Saturday!!!!

Look at this!

After some more browsing for pictures with the bolero...I discovered http://hiverhiboux.blogspot.com/. Here's a peek at the gorgeous bride...

She has lace on the top of her dress (it's Paloma Blanca like mine!), she's wearing a bolero, AND she's wearing a lace edge veil! What do you think?? Too much?

To bolero or not to bolero?

So I have always loved the look of the lace shurg or bolero for the ceremony. Something like this...but once I found my dress I didn't think any more about it.

Now I'm starting to reconsider...now I love my dress and don't think it needs anything else but I can't help but wonder how this would look with my dress. Is it worth another $225? If I do wear the bolero...do I still wear a veil? If so...what kind? My dress has lace detail only on the top...will a bolero take away from that?

Too many decisions!

UPDATE 4/29:
The seamstress who is working on my flowergirl's dress and my bridesmaids dresses (who happens to be a friend of my mother) said she could make the bolero no problem! So that means I wouldn't have to pay $225 but...still no decision! I think I'll have to wait until my dress comes in and do a sort of "test run".

Do I really need a purse??

Well that was the question I have been asking myself for several months now. I hesitated because I just didn't think I needed a purse until I saw this from etsy seller Shakuyaku. I contacted her and she's going to make a custom clutch for me in the same style, but in an ivory to match my dress.
And...instead of lining it in blue silk like you see here...she bought special green silk that perfectly matches my shoes! I'm in love!

I should receive my clutch in a few weeks...pictures of course once it arrives!

Do these match??

OK so I have been searching for something to wear in my hair so that when I take my veil off there is still something sparkly in my hair. I found this (below) that I absolutely love...BUT...does it go with my dress and earrings?? What do you think??

Helllooo Loooverr!

My new obsession! I found these last weekend at Nordstrom and couldn't resist! They are almost the same color as my bridesmaid's dresses, but no one will ever notice they aren't perfect...right?? So, now I have two pairs of shoes...when will I wear them both...well, I'm not sure. I do know that these babies are pretty high and I probably won't be wearing them for very long! Oh well!

Invites and shoes are here!

Shoes are from endless.com and they are much more comfortable than I ever thought they would be. Not sure if I will keep them or not...I have my eye on some others but these were on clearance for only $30!

I am in love with my invitations but not quite sure what to do about the RSVP card. What do you think about it? I feel like it looks a little busy...I'm not really sure what to do about it though because I want to have out of town bags for our guests at the hotels.

Done and Done!

After having a full week off from work, I have been rather productive.

1. We finally got to look at our engagement pictures on pictage! Whoo Hoo! LOVE them and can't wait to use them for the many projects that I have in mind. (photobook guest book, Christmas cards, save-the-date magnets, possibly table number cards?)

2. We met with a fabulous man at Shelton's Wedding Cakes and were able to pick three flavros of cake for him to make for us. I will be picking up 3 mini cakes on Wednesday for us to sample at home. As long as the cake is tasty, we will most likely go with him. I think we'll still taste a few others...just for fun!

3. I was able to get Mr. G to Crate & Barrel to register there. Whew! Let me just say...I love having a fiance who wants to be invloved, but seriously...its KITCHEN stuff! You aren't allowed to argue with me about something you're never going to use!

4. All of the bridesmaids have a dress either in their posession or on order. Yay to J Crew finally putting all the dresses on sale! Big check for that one off the list!

5. I have the invitation finalized and should have a printed mock-up in the mail in the next couple of days. I will definitely post pictures as soon as it arrives.

6. My garters (one to save and one to toss) arrived today from www.thegartermaker.net/. LOVE it! Another surprise for Mr. G. as the toss garter is orange and blue (his football team's colors) and the keep is ivory with a navy button and a letter G in orange. If my camera weren't out of batteries I would take a picture :(

Finally, I have bought the first of the gifts for the bridesmaids. I know you're all wondering what it could possibly be, but you're just going to have to wait...241 days to be exact ;) I have a few more things in mind and I will be buying them a few at a time as the months go on.

Happy December everyone!

Fun stuff!

The ring is originally from QVC, but I found it on Ebay for $20. It is also a little more blue than the picture I found. The earrings and bracelet are an early present from my mom. They are Nadri and they're from Nordstrom. The SECRET something blue undies with my new last name on them are from http://www.customglamgirl.com/. Love it all!
