Wedding Recap: Bride gets Dressed

After all the girls were ready, it was finally time for me to get into my dress.  I can't explain the feeling of having all your best friends and family with you all day.  I was so overwhelemed with happiness and love and I didn't want the day to end.  Putting my dress on was one of the best moments of the day except for of course marrying the man of my dreams!

We're laughing at how much padding was added to my dress!

LOVE this one!

As soon as my sister put my veil on the tears started flowing, but thenkfully the girls were there to make me laugh!

New rehearsal dress...and shoes!

Soo...I changed my mind *not the first time*! I had purchased this dress back in March for my rehearsal dinner. I tried in on a few weeks ago in hopes of wearing it to a friend's wedding. Wellll...I decided I didn't really like it anymore. So last week I set out to take it back and find something that I liked even better. Turns out I was successful (which is crazy because you know what happens when you go shopping for something specific...you never find anything!)! I ended up with this cute Gap number that was about 1/3 of the price! Whoo hoo for that! Nordstrom took the original dress and the shoes back and I was able to get a new dress and a new pair of shoes for half the price!

Whaddya think?? (sorry for the crappy e-bay pictures...I can't find it anywhere online!)
It looks purple but it really is a very royal blue. I plan to dress it up with some fun jewelry.

And here's the shoes...

I'm not so sure the shoes match, but I had seen them on JCrew months ago when they were full price, but as always with JCrew...they went on sale AND I got an email for extra 20% off and free shipping...I couldn't resist! If they don't look right with the dress, I have some other shoes that I'll wear and I'll wear these with my wedding gown for the reception...

Look at this!

After some more browsing for pictures with the bolero...I discovered http://hiverhiboux.blogspot.com/. Here's a peek at the gorgeous bride...

She has lace on the top of her dress (it's Paloma Blanca like mine!), she's wearing a bolero, AND she's wearing a lace edge veil! What do you think?? Too much?

To bolero or not to bolero?

So I have always loved the look of the lace shurg or bolero for the ceremony. Something like this...but once I found my dress I didn't think any more about it.

Now I'm starting to reconsider...now I love my dress and don't think it needs anything else but I can't help but wonder how this would look with my dress. Is it worth another $225? If I do wear the bolero...do I still wear a veil? If so...what kind? My dress has lace detail only on the top...will a bolero take away from that?

Too many decisions!

UPDATE 4/29:
The seamstress who is working on my flowergirl's dress and my bridesmaids dresses (who happens to be a friend of my mother) said she could make the bolero no problem! So that means I wouldn't have to pay $225 but...still no decision! I think I'll have to wait until my dress comes in and do a sort of "test run".

More dresses...

So a few weeks ago I decided to start the search for my rehearsal and shower dresses. I set out with high hopes and was quickly disappointed by the selection of what I found. First of all...NOTHING fit me correctly and there just wasn't anything that I had to have! Ughh...so frustrating!
This past Saturday I decided to venture out again and try another mall with a different Nordstrom's. SUCCESS! I found not one, but two dresses! Whoo hoo! Take a look!

Rehearsal Dress (a bit different in colors here, but mine is black with white, aqua and yellow)

And of course...I HAD to have these shoes to go with it... And my shower dress...

Yay...things are getting closer, my first shower is in about a month! :)

Oh JCrew...how I love you!

OK...I NEED this dress! How perfect for my carribbean honeymoon?!?! I think I could probably wear it for my rehearsal dinner too...
Too bad it's almost $400! (Siiiiigh) Go on sale already!
